Conduct Risk (Treating Customer Fairly)

We app**** for a Home loan application for an amount of R920 000, but the home loan credit approval was for R828,000.00. We were advised that base on the application they we be only be able to offer 90% loan amount due to risk and affordability. Then we decided to look for other apartments and we found one for R650 000 ( 3 bedrooms) with a difference of R178 000 and they still alluding the same story, that base on the application we were granted 90% loan amount due to risk and affordability. How is that? clearly the affordability calculations are misleading. how is that we were approved for R828 000 with a difference of R178 000 still we don’t get 100% bond, I don’t understand. Our profile didn't change, we didn't take up any debt since from our first application.

As per Conduct Risk we are unfairly treated, how are we treated the same were we app**** for less amount bond where we were approved for before, how do you justify that? We are being discriminated and that's a fact. I mean we had an application which had a higher amount compare to the one we applying for now. This is for not fair as we are taken for a ride here.

How are we going to raise the funds cause we cannot afford it to raise R65 000. This is our second application with a lower amount than the first application but we being told the same story, how is that? They know for a fact that we cannot apply for personal loan. We went back and forth with Home loans consultant wanting bank statements and now we being told this.

We were looking for a house for almost two years now, trying to find a home for our daughter and we are being discriminated, the amount is not the same, how are you guys justifying that. They still alluding the same story, the amount is not the same and that is the fact. I feel we are being discriminated here because we are first time buyers.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my delight with the wonderful service we recently had for our Home loan application. These days it is not often that a Home loans Sales Consultant goes beyond the extra mile to ensure a client’s piece of mind and satisfaction, however it simply was a pleasure dealing with Chantal Naidoo. She took every measure to ensure that the service delivery was impeccable and constantly giving feedback about the progress on the home loan. I also want to thank the Client Experience Team for regularly follow ups and driving the progress of our Home loan, we really appreciate your efforts Nico, Executive Service Support Consultant, It is good to know that there are some companies that still believe in good client services. Indeed Nedbank continuously strives to deliver excellence. Thank you for fully funding our first Home for our Daughter:-).
