complaint of poor service and violation of client rights

Good day I would like to lodge a complaint on the service of Nedbank New Market staff, Madeline Venter, she had closed my current account on Thursday, the 2nd of June 2022 at New Market branch and funds that were in my current account were transferred to my savings account the same day by Madeline Venter. On Friday, the 3rd of June 2022, I had received a phone call from Madeline at 15:43 about my account being overdrawn of R759.42. I told her that the amount is the investment money that I had given notice of on Wednesday the 1st of June 2022 from my investment account, because I was going to close my account, she had **** to me about how the error had happened and the amount. She said the reason the account was overdrawn was due to transactions that not been processed to the amount of R340 and R300, which she said had not been banked, which actually was processed on the 28th of May 2022 according to my statement. She said to me she had to reactivate my account to correct the payment and that she had already transferred the amount of R759.42 from my savings account to correct the closing account balance. However, the Investment amount of R759.42 was already in my account the day I had closed the account. Madeline DID NOT ASK FOR MY AUTHORISATION for any movement/transfer of payment of the R759.42, nor had she explained to me what happened and had **** about the transaction. I feel as a client of Nedbank I was disrespected and violated that money has been taken put of my account when I did not make a payment WITH MY CARD as I had handed it into her. According to the Poppy Act, they had violated my privacy and cannot make transfers without my authorisation. Today, Saturday the 4th of June 2022, I had seen that R759.42 had been deducted from my savings account. I had gone back to The New Market Branch and spoke to the team leader, Yolandi. Yolandi had known who I was before I even introduced myself and had prejudged me before I had even the chance to give my name. I had the impression she was waiting for me to come back to the bank. I had explained to her why I was there and she had said to me that I had made a payment of R759.42 with my card, which was INCORRECT. I had told her that when they had transferred my funds from my current account to savings account the R759.42 was included in the amount transferred of R2610, which showed on the statement sent by Madeline. I had also shown both Madeline and Yolandi that the investment account statement showed the funds withdrawal and interest went to my current account on the 2nd of June, when in fact if they had looked at the current account statement to confirm if the money had been received, they would of seen that the invest money had in fact not gone to the current account on the 2nd of June as expected. My balance on the current account was R1851.35, Madeline had transferred R2610 as the closing balance to my savings account, which included the R759.42 due from the investment notice. Yolandi had told me, very arrogantly, she had authorised the transfer payment from my savings account because an email was sent to the branch that was due R759.42 on my current account. She had said to me that, regardless if they had phoned me and asked me for my consent and if I had said no, she still needed to deduct that amount because it was owed? When it was not! I believe their actions were in violation of the Poppy Act. Yolandi and Madeline both did not give me a solution to my problem, nor did they offer a refund to the money that was deducted. If they had phoned and told me the truth and explained to me what had happened, the R759.42 would not be out of my account. It is a complete disregard of me as a client and my privacy and I feel after the treatment I received today from Yolandi and Madeline, they didn’t even want to look for the money when they both clearly knew the bank was in error and did not offer an apology nor a refund. I have lost all trust in Nedbank and therefore I feel that I should also close the savings account left at Nedbank as apparently staff can transact on my account as they feel fit to do… I believe that they could have resolved my issue this morning and I am requesting a refund of R759.42 as well as the service fee they charged me of R25 as I feel no service was provided and no resolution. I believe I am due a written apology from Yolandi and Madeline based on the way they had handled the situation and treatment of me.
