Complaint
Good day, My name is Nomhle Khumalo and I am the Secretary for the Tswelopelo Emanuel Siyakhana Stockvel. We have been trying to open a Nedbank Stockvel Account at Chris Hani Crossing in Vosloorus. I was disturbed by the contradictory information we got as to what the requirements to open up the account were at this branch. They said that all 3 signatories of the account need to have a personal bank account with Nedbank and there's a minimum of R500 that is required for the account to be open. This is not the same information on the Nedbank website, it's different to the information we got from the Lesedi Shopping Center and I even went as far as to enquire telepathically with your head office.
What's was even more disturbing was treatment we got from the staff. It was bad to a point that I asked to speak to the branch manager and yet even in her presence the staff member continued to raise a hand to my face and persisted that their requirements were non-negotiable. The branch manager, Nomsa Mathonsi, did not rectify this information and instead stressed that the funeral benefit from Nedbank is a favour to the community and doesn't benefit Nedbank in any way and therefore it is compulsory that at least one member have a personal Nedbank account. I explained to her that a personal account has serious implications and that the website doesn't make mention of the fact that this was a requirement to open up the account.
The information at Chris Hani Crossing is misleading people and preventing them from accessing financial services they need. Moreover their treatment of customers or be it potential customers is degrading and purely disrespectful. If they do not wish to have our business then we would gladly take our business elsewhere. Right now I've been busy for the past 4hours trying to give feedback on their website and its not working. We are walking around with cash from stockvel members and that's dangerous yet we can't get the service we desperately need.
