Complaint

I have been a client with Nedbank for the past seven years and received the best service ever. In February this year I lost my job and the first people I contacted, was the bank. I have two vehicle finance deals with the bank and requested assistance with the two deals. To my shock, the bank then closed my account and refuses to forward any statements to me. To speak to someone, is like looking for a needle in a haystack. It feels like the bank just don't care. You either have a job to be a bank client, and God help you when you lose your job, because Nedbank does not want to have unemployed clients on their books. I sincerely hope that my situation can be resolved and someone at Nedbank will phone and shed some light as to why my account was closed and why I don't get any assistance from Nedbank regarding my vehicle finance deals and why Nedbank refuse to forward me any statements.

And so the fight continues. The bank went the legal route, and that not even with one month behind on the car payment. The other car's payment was up to date - oh yes, the bank went legal and closed my cheque account with a positive balance. No one contacted me to say that the bank is going legal. My relationship banker also failed to advise the credit department of my unemployment - she advised the credit department or legal team only 2 months after I have informed her about my situation. I logged a complaint with the Ombudsman for banking services, and the bank still cannot provide me any proof that all the correct steps were followed to assist me - oh, wait, according to the letter from the bank that was sent to the Ombudsman, the bank does not provide assistance. And also, Nedbank promotes that in the event of retrenchment, dismissal, suspension or maternity leave, Nedbank can freeze your account for up to three months for you to find new employment, but they have failed to say that you need insurance . I have asked certain questions for the bank for assistance, and these questions are getting avoided and ignored. What is the bank hiding? Someone at the bank did not do their job and they are trying to cover their own errors. I went and meet with the legal team, and I was told in my face that the bank did not follow the correct steps to contact me. Well Nedbank and your *********** and useless staff, I will not leave this here. Answer my questions and provide me with proof - or what do you have to hide? I have sent you all my e-mail communications and I have cellphone records to proof I spoke to the bank on more than one occasion to ask for help. Step up to the plate and provide me with answers. I have received your pathetic response after your investigation that you have sent to the Ombudsman - all of a sudden, all correct steps were followed? Then please train your legal team properly to not tell clients that the bank did not follow the correct steps. Or maybe she was trained properly, but the bank refuses to admit. You will soon have my response.
