Charged legal fees a week after settling all my arrears in my bond account

I am so mad that I was called Nedbank at the start of June 2017 to bring my bond account up to date, I was to told that I must pay R3 030 which included the June payment. I did pay that amount on the 5th of June.

I then called on the 3rd of July to check how much I was supposed to pay on this account and I was told that account was still at collections....WHAT. I was put through to collections and I spoke to Lerato who did not understand what was going and promised to look at the issue. I the wrote a complaint to Nedbank where theys said they will come to me within 48 hours. I then called them on 6 July as I knew they will not call. I spoke to a home loans collections (Penny) and her manager Claudio informed me that my account was owing legal fees that they billed to my account a week (13 June according to Penny) after I had settled all the arrears plus the current instalment. The manager gladly told me that the consultant did not know about the fees so its not their problem. I was not told what constituted the R3 030 that was supposed to bring my account to date and I am not going to pay those fees. Nedbank your service sucks.

Hi

I have spoken to one of your employees who is still adamant that I am liable for the legal fees that were charged on to my account more than a week after I had brought it up to date.

I am taking this up with the Banking Ombuds; so please provide me with the following to complete the application form:

1. Complaint Reference Number from your Bank’s Dispute Resolution Unit.
2. Written response from your Bank’s Dispute Resolution Unit.

Regards

Nkanyiso

I am so happy that the bank has reversed the legal fees. I sincerely hope that such an incident does not happen to anybody else. And that they train their employees on how to handle customer issues.
