Change of bankcard, cut drivers license

My husband bank with Nedbank. He have a savings account and wanted to draw money at the atm. He couldn't and went in to see a consultant. They told him his card expired and he need to get a new bankcard. He did not have his ID with him and they wanted to see his drivers license. He gave the drivers license, they did what they had to do with it and then cut it in half. HIS DRIVERS LICENSE!!!! Instead of the old bankcard. What now? Sorry Sir..... They will cover the cost of replacement. Can you believe it.
