BOND IN ARREARS
Good day I trust that you’re well, I am writing to you on a matter concerning my bond and Nedbank.
In 2002 I got a bond through my bank which is Nedbank and as discussed with my bank, the house should be paid up by 2022. However, in 2013 I took a second bond which was and addition to the existing bond and since 2002 when I took my first bond I have been paying accordingly to the terms I have agreed on with Nedbank. To my surprise, last year I was visited by someone from Nedbank telling me that I am behind with payment since 2022, I then followed up on the this issue and visited Nedbank and according to them, I haven’t been paying since 2022. I was then told by Nedbank to visit my HR and upon visiting them I was given a sheet showing that I have payed up my bond,15 September 2022, according to their system. I was only now told by Nedbank that payment automatically stops after 20 years of deduction, However what I would like to know is why stop deducting money as discussed when it is clear that I haven’t finished paying up my bond. According to them, today I apparently haven’t been paying my house since 2022 without being informed that they have stopped deductions since 15 September 2022, which is the day exact same day according to HR that I have finished paying up my bond. The amount that I am told I still owe is R340 427.75 which is double the amount I had purchased the house for.
I need your assistance on this matter urgently because I believe it is unfair to inform me about not paying my bond after such a long time without even informing me prior that after 20 years deductions from my salary will stop and that I have to go renegotiate payment.
