Beware of being loyal to Nedbank
So on Thursday last week I app**** for a home loan on nedbanks website only to be instructed that because I am self employed I would need to talk to a consultant. Fair enough. At this point let me say that the reason I am now self employed was that my dad passed away and I took over the company after working for him for twenty eight years.
Today being Wednesday I was contacted by a consultant to do my home loan application.
A minute into the conversation I was asked if my business account was held by Nedbank to which I rep**** no.. I was then told that unless I moved my business account to Nedbank I could not apply for a home loan...
???
I have previously had two different bonds with Nedbank and never had a problem applying before.
I have been a Nedbank client for thirty years. Does that not count.
Are Nedbank allowed to force a person into moving a business account to them in order to get a loan ?
The company I now run is a pty ltd company registered in 1967 and the standard bank account is almost as old.
Nedbank want me to close that account in order to apply for a home loan..
Is there no bonus for loyalty
I will now close my account and move to theStandard bank
