before you ask me why

I recently opened an Amex account. I was pretty happy with it. Nedbank called me several times to convince me to move my current account from FNB to them. Eventually, they convinced me.

I also recently suffered an injury which makes standing or walking for any amount of time extremely painful, I will be going for surgery to correct that shortly.

Anyway, I arrive at the branch with the documentation needed. I get to Thulani's counter and tell him about my injury and that's why I'll sit on the floor every few seconds. He checks through the documents I brought and seems happy with them. We proceed to do all the paperwork. This must have taken about 30 minutes, perhaps less since that amount of pain makes time seem to drag. Right at the end, he calls the call center and convinces them that my FNB bank statement isn't in order and I need to return to the FNB branch to get a new one.

I don't have a problem with that. But, surely he could have told me at the beginning, moved me to a counter with a chair or done anything but drag it as long as that with no result. It may have been a laugh for him. But, when I don't pick up my new account and don't move to Nedbank, you know why.
