Been waiting for credit card statements since the 21/11/2016

On the 21/11/2016 I called the Nedbank Call Centre from the Durban Musgrave branch to request my Credit card statements. This was subsequent to an automated message I had received about my credit card account being in arrears. I was shocked to learn of such a high balance , over a R1000.00. I then called in to request statements going back to August 2015, the guy said they would have to process it as a special request as they cannot go that ****her back and that the request would take about 48 hours..that was on the 21/11/2016!

As much as he sounded clued up about what he was doing, he hung up before I could request for a reference number. I felt I needed one as I had been transferred to legal initially by a rather inefficient consultant with bad etiquette by the name of Nompumelelo !!!Fortunately Nthabi at legal was great, had to transfer me to arrears but she made sure that she explained everything to the gentleman before she could transfer me!!

That gentleman didn't finish the call nor send the statements.

I SUBSEQUENTLY sent an e-mail to the Clients Complaint division, after which i received an e-mail from a Client Retention Manager, Regan Munnik whom I concluded had read my complaint and request. But Munnik with less than care sent me an ENCRYPTED 3-months-statement. Without so much as an explanation as to how I were to access the statements I DID NOT REQUEST in the first place!!

The reason I requested the statements is because I hadn't been receiving any in years-which is okay, but I was shocked when I learned thatthe account was in arrears....I thought, if anything, it would have a credit balance !!

Reason for such assumption is that I called the call centre , spoke to Bianca - call ref ********** 4 just cant remember when (date) it was, but she advised me that the balance was R134.93 excluding

finance charges....subsequent to that I still couldn't close it because, due to pending finance charges at that time there would be another billing on that account which was estimated to about R33.00.

The card was closed (both visa and amex) in 2015 august 25th - as per ref number ********** 7, so there shouldn't be any card charges that could have been levied nor did I receive any communication of

a new card having been issued subsequent to the card cancellation. So I was sure there were no further charges except for the over-the-counter payments I've been making for the account itself.

But on top of that, I have paid a total of R1050.00 in 2016..hence I needed a statement breakdown of how the balance came to be R1194.00 on an inactive account, that has no new card issues ..finance charges I can understand...but how the balance can go from 134.93 to more than a R1000 in less than a year..on an inactive account despite a payment of R1050.00 is a bit strange to me and I cannot believe that the charges can be that high as to exceed the balance ......card number : 4 ********** 0 ********** .

I am sure had the Munnik guy had so much as a spark of care this would have been effeciently sorted. I was not disputing anything, in fact am still paying the arrears amount, I am not trying to evade the balance, but just need to know how it got so high after almost settling the balance........on a cancelled card.

Need I mention that I updated my personal details at the Nedbank Musgrave branch and prior to that at an Argyle branch with my updated details: marriage certificate, new ID, contact details, FICA docs....and I find out they don't have my updated details even thou they have my correct contact number.....

I hope i get some decent treatment

Suzan
