Be careful when buying a house with nedbank

Myself and my wife app**** for a home finance with nedbank and it was approved in 2019 August but due to complications including covid-19 we only signed the agreement recently( almost 12 months later ) and nedbank asked if we are affected by covid-19 financially and said yes my salary was reduced so they put the process on hold and now it was reinstated so I have send them proof.

They have also asked for proof of rental income of R10 600 that they say I was getting in 2019 and they want to see it in the current statements, personally I think it is stupidity to think that rental income can stay the same more than 12 months so I asked them if the issue is affordability but they never answered.

My wife have resend the documents that shows that they made a "mistake" we have never said I get a rental income on R10 600 she is the one getting it.

Because of someones incompetency at nedbank we will not be getting our house anytime soon. We have paid attorneys an amount of more than R200 000 for transfers deposit included, this is the money that we could have invested somewhere but we made a bad judgment and went with nedbank.

If they say we no longer afford the house it was going to be a different case even though it still be false but now we have to provide proof of something that is not there to top it off and they are not responding to our emails

I have banked with nedbank for more than 10yrs and I can tell you that their home loans department is like a rotten potato that spoil the whole bag
