Banking Nightmare
We have had a business account for the last 25 years or more with Nedbank and honestly, if I could change banks I would! The problem is the fact that it's a business account and any changes need to go through the Master of the court, and the Master is always approximately a year behind.
On 14th February, we went to Nedbank to try to get my husband a banking profile so he can use the app and see the details of the debit card. Five branch employees could not get it right and in the process, succeeded in wiping out my access to the account and (it seemed) my profile! After 3 and a half hours, I put my foot down and insisted they call someone senior who resolved the issue of my access to the account. HOWEVER, I left the bank with the issue of my husband having a profile unresolved as he was not able to wait till they had sorted the issue they messed up!
This was our second visit to the bank on the same issue, the first having taken two hours of our time, this time it took four hours, and I shudder to think how long it will take to create a profile for my husband who uses the card.
This is not the first time we have had issues with the account. Furthermore, the internet banking site, is THE WORST I have ever used. When the site is down, the message received is that the use has entered their details incorrectly. However, in actual fact the site is down.
I have spoken about this issue numerous times to the call centre, asked for it to be escalated to management, but nothing has changed. If you are not a savvy user, you could easily lock yourself out of your banking profile due to the message being given on the online site.
My advice? DO NOT BANK WITH NEDBANK!!! Or if you, do so at your peril.
I would, however, like to add, that our relationship manager (who I think is in Johannesburg) has been in constant contact and is excellent, but the matter of creating a profile cannot be done online, it must be done in person at the branch. Were it not for Naloufa, I would definitely have had a mental breakdown over this matter. She has been the one bright light in our lives over this whole nightmare. But the Stellenbosch branch???? The less said about them, the better. It would seem that only one gentleman actually knows what's going on. I also did not appreciate the condescending manner in which one or two of them spoke to us when we voiced our extreme dissatisfaction with the handling of the matter. We are customers, they are employees, their job is to assist customers. And sort out problems with accounts.
I can only think that Nedbank do not do any training with their staff. Unacceptable.
