Banking *****
After 42 years of banking with Nedbank I was de*****ed of R49 000 and they rrefuse to reimburse me. I have reported to their ***** division, the Complaints Department and the Ombudsman for banking. I received an email from Nedbank on 5/03/25. - I opened it and it was for a Personal loan which I hadn't app**** for. I called the Personal loans and informed them that I had not app**** for a loan. The agent informed me that the application was for R100 000. She informed me that she was suspending my account to prevent the loan going. My app and account was suspended on that date. I went to the Cornubia branch of the bank - informed them of the same. The attendant informed me that my account was suspended and her system showed the laon amount was R173 000. She called the loans department and informed them that they must cancel the loan because I had not app**** for it. She then removed all my contact numbers from their system. I was advised to contact the ***** department. I did that the same day - was informed that the investigation would take about 8-9 weeks. I continued receiving calls from the Personal loans department reminding me to complete my application. Each time I informed that I had not app**** for a loan. I reported all the above to the bank - they tried getting hold of the investigator but was unsuccessful. After 8 weeks I was allowed to use my cards for payments and purchases. I received no statements for my current accounts. Credit card statements came in May for April and May. I saw a transaction for R21450 on my credit card- Contacted the bank, investigations and complaints and informed them. After 3 months the Complaints Department contacted me - asking me to make arrangements for payment to Nedbank for an amount of R11000 which was paid to Woolworths from the loan. I refused to pay this since I had not authorized any payment. No amount from the R173000 loan reflected in my account. I was then informed by the Complaints department that R49000 was the ***** amount but they did not inform me either in writing or telephonically that R27000 of the de*****ed amount came from my savings which was in a My Pocket attachment in my Savings account. They also stated that it was my 'compromise' which led to me *****. They also informed me that some of the R173000 was transferred to a Capitec and a Discovery account, but refused to divulge whose accounts they were. They offered me a 'Goodwill' amount of R16900 which I refused. I informed them that I wanted my savings returned and the R21450 on the credit card to be written off. None of this has occurred and I am being debited for the R21450 used on my credit card. If the bank cannot be trusted to keep my money safe - then who do I trust. I managed to save that money after 37 years of working for a holiday. All was in vain. Nedbanl refuses to accept responsibility for allowing transactions on a suspended account. I have received no response from the Ombuds with my problem. I hope you can help me please.
