Avoid Nedbank Private Bank

I am a client of many years and was in good standing over the course of two home loans for twenty years until my life circumstances changed drastically and my bond fell into arrears for two months. Being a Nedbank Private Bank client I forewarned my so-called “relationship banker” Sharm Pillay (Krishnaveni Pillay) several months in advance of my predicament which she ignored until such time I fell into arrears. Further to this, I managed to sell the bonded property and arrange occupational rental to be paid to Nedbank so the account did not fall further into arrears.

Nedbank Private Banking became very pedestrian in their approach towards me once the bond fell into arrears. My so-called “relationship banker” did little more than try and force feed me an exorbitant personal loan to pay back the arrears and my credit card for R200 000 repayable at R364 000. I refused getting a loan to pay loans and then got passed from pillar to post between Kamal Bipulprasad, Litha Jijana and Lebogang ****siwa. All of which were not interested in helping me until such time I lodged a case with the banking ombudsman. What's more, now that the property is sold and Nedbank agreed to the occupational rental whilst accruing the two months arrears to the outstanding loan, they continue to threaten issuing a section 129 letter in terms of the national credit act and have told me I never informed them I sold the property and wish to try and penalise me with additional interest charges. Nedbank persist in blaming the client for Nedbank employees’ incompetence, this is not only unprofessional, it’s shows disrespect for Nedbank’s employees and client alike.

Considering the millions in interest I have made for the bank the old adage rings true for Nedbank Private Bank; “A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain.”

Avoid Nedbank Private Banking at all costs!
