Avoid @Nedbank home loans (if applying with a partner)

Word of advice for anyone applying for a joint home loan (with a partner or family member): Avoid @Nedbank. They don’t allow joint account holders equal access — everything runs through one person’s cellphone number, which means only one of you can authorise transactions.

This might sound small, but for me and my sister, who co-own an investment property, it's a massive headache. For the next 20 years, one of us is locked out of managing the account properly.

Our other bond with @ABSA gives both of us full, independent access — no bottlenecks. As it should be.
