application of a pocket POS system
as a startup SMME I've app**** at nedbank for a pocket pos device on a pay as you go contract. I paid up R2870 for the device and clearly stated I'm a startup business who will open a store in 2 weeks and the business bank account will not reflect many transactions as its a new account. They further requested telephonically my personal bank statements for verification of which it has nothing to do with the business. At first they approved the device and later rejected it because my personal bank statement had a overdraft which is in arrears. Now I will have to run my store on a cash only basis, thus putting it directly at risk. If this is how Nedbank help develop SMME's then surely they should relook their policies and say its for the rich only. They advertise that we as SMME's must come for assistance just to find it doesn't exist. I'm deeply disappointed for the manner they handled my case. SMME's should be helped to grow the economy and not to break it down, I've lost confidence in Nedbank to ever assist my business as what they advertise and what they do are not the same in customer service.
