All take and nothing to give

After paying approximately R1800.00p/month in addition to the standard monthly fees as a SME, this is the treatment I received from Nedbank Small Business Services: I opened my account June 2020 and Ms Nadia Cassiem was my appointed banker. It didn't take very long after opening the account for Ms Cassiem to show total disinterest in assisting me with any queries I had. Ms Cassiem never answered any phone calls and/or hardly made any effort to respond to emails, so much so that on three separate occasions I had to physically go into the branch to get some sort of action out of her. These "visits" were not welcomed at all. Our relationship ended whereby Ms Cassiem was dishonest in writing by saying she tried to phone a couple of times when in actual fact I only had one missed call from her number. On 17/02/2022 Ms Cassiem sent me an email to say that she is not my accountant and she will send me her team manager's (Mr Elroy Jonkers) contact details. Ms Cassiem never sent Mr Jonkers contact details. In the 20 months since opening my account Ms Cassiem never once contacted me out of her own to find out how the business is doing, how does it feel to be a first-time entrepreneur, and if there is anything she can do on her side to make the slightest difference. On 30 June 2022 I had a conversation with a Nedbank assistant on the Nedbank app, to which Ms Shasmee said that she will get Mr Jonkers to contact me soonest. Mr Jonkers never made that call. 27 September 2022 I sent an email to Ms Eleanor Stemmers to explain to her the service (or lack thereof), and to highlight the fact that I am paying exorbitant banking fees and that my Greenbacks are not linked to my card transactions. I received an automatic reply saying that Ms Stemmers is out of office and then forwarded the email to Ms Tracy-Lee Adams, who stood in for Ms Stemmers at the time. Ms Adams was the first and only person to act promptly (thank you Ms Adams) and mentioned that Ms Eleanor advised that a certain Mr Giovanni Hardenberg would assist and address in her absence. Ms Adams also mentioned that she would ask Mr Hardenberg to contact me as soon as he arrived at the office. To date Mr Hardenberg also failed to make his call. It was after this email that Mr Jonkers first made contact from his side (presumably upon instruction from Mr Hardenberg) and he mentioned that Ms Cassiem moved on to another role and branch. It is also to note that Mr Hardenberg mentioned on this phone call that we should perhaps look into changing the account to an uncapped account, at approximately R250.00p/month. However, no such account exists within the three-tiered business options at Nedbank Small Business Services and it is quite alarming that a team manager of his caliber will suggest something that does not exist. On 28 September 2022 I sent a follow up email after paying another R1400.00 in fees. Early October 2022 I was put into contact with Mr Kaveer Beamchand who was newly appointed to take care of the branch and my account. Both Mr Beamchand and Mr Jonkers promised me a better service-related relationship as Mr Beamchand is "on it". I am yet to be shown how their service delivery is really otherwise, because as with Ms Cassiem, I am still experiencing unanswered calls, messages and emails. On 28 October 2022 I again sent an email to everyone involved to inform them that I am still without any solution(s). Myself, Mr Beamchand and Mr Jonkers had a face-to-face meeting on 03 November 2022 where we discussed everything in detail and once again I was promised that we will have clearer communication and prompt action. I app**** for vehicle finance and reiterated to both Mr Jonkers and Mr Beamchand why it is crucial for my business not only to grow but to also to be able to continue doing the daily operations and that I feel it is only fair to motivate the vehicle application on my behalf, based on sufficient cash flow within the business and also for Nedbank to show that they are also pulling their weight. Mr Beamchand and mr Jonkers confirmed that they will do their best as they now have a better understanding of the history and who I am in person. They also committed to at least try to get 12-months worth of Greenbacks (which is also subject to a R300 service fee charge) and to reverse 50% of the banking fees spent. Nedbank and FMC declined the vehicle finance application prior to this meeting solely based on the fact that there is "bad credit" on my name. This "bad" credit was caused from being retrenched in 2017/18 and my vehicle was repossessed. After an unsuccessful overdraft application with Ms Cassiem in 2020/21, Nedbank and Ms Cassiem said that we can re-look the application after a couple of months when the credit score is better. It is more than a year later and still they are declining my application solely based on the credit history with Wesbank (which is more than 5 yeas ago), yet I spent almost a quarter of the amount reflecting on the credit score on Nedbank fees. There is more than sufficient cash flow to service the monthly payments on the said vehicle(s), yet Nedbank and FMC refuses to give the credit. Not only is the process delayed, but both the vehicles I submitted OTPs for has been sold. I now have to restart the process which causes utter frustration and anxiety. It is now 9 business-working days (almost two weeks) since our meeting on 03 November 2022 and I still do not have any answer and/or solution on any of the queries. I sent an email on Monday (14 November 2022) to request any feedback and received an automatic response from Mr Beachmand that he is in training and won't have access to his emails. I would have thought that Mr Jonkers could have at least picked up the phone and just put a concerned customer at ease. To conclude, the only action Nedbank has with their Small Business owners are the fees they need to charge.
