A month to open a Business Account
I did an online application for a business account mid-September. On 20 September I emailed all requested documentation through to Nedbank. on 22 September 2017 I received a mail from Bronwyn Hartley (Durban Sales Consultant) to advise that Venessa Pillay from the Meyersdal (Jhb South) branch would contact me to come in and sign documentation. On 26 September 2017 I emailed Bronwyn to advise her that Venessa still had not contacted me. On 30 September 2017 I met with Ms Pillay, signed a bunch of documents and was told to contact her in a week to confirm I could come back and deposit R500 into the account and collect my card. On 5 October 2017 I received an email confirmation from Ms Hartly to confirm my card was ready for collection and I could go in and deposit the R500. On 5 October 2017 I emailed Ms Pillay and confirmed to her I was advised I could come in and collect my card and deposit the money. She did not respond to my email despite knowing full well that she had not even bothered to order my card so it was not possible that my card was there. Instead she chose to ignore my email and let me waste my time by coming and standing in a queue at the bank only to be told what she could have rep**** to me on email. That she had not done her job properly. On 6 October 2017 I again went into the bank to deposit my R500 and collect my card. I was advised that my card was not at the branch and it had not even been ordered yet. No one was willing to help me further or give me a reason as to what had happened besides "there was a misunderstanding, you card will be ordered and it takes about 3 days to arrive". I emailed Ms Hartly the same day to express my dissatisfaction at this experience and also explained that I needed to set up my internet banking. To date I have had no further responses from anyone at Nedbank. I have no internet banking and I have no bank card and Ms Hartly nor Ms Pillay have bothered to get hold of me to give me any feedback or updates. It is now 16 October 2017. So I am now wondering if I should rather just close this account and move to FNB who would probably be able to assist me much faster and would actually reply to my queries.
