A Death Certificate does not mean your dead and can close your bank Account. T's and C's apply
A death certificate does not mean your dead and your Account can be closed. I called the call centre to ask how do I close an account of a Deceased Family Member. I was advised to take the ID Document and Death certificate to the nearest branch. I took this to Constantia Branch as Plumstead is closed. I stood in a queue for 45 minutes from arriving at the bank as Tellers and Enquiries is one queue. The consultant who assisted me was Tanya Geduldt. She never even punched in the ID Number to check the profile of the client. She gave the documents right back requesting a letter from the Master's office. The profile of the Account SYAS IT ALL. I am annoyed and frustrated when we have blanket policies for all things when we Profile clients for anything else. Reported the matter to the Complaints Resolution centre Ref No: ***6. I can categorically state I will not be doing anything further to get this Account closed as I did my part. Disgusted at the lack of empathy from the Bank
