5 years later; the same level of incompetence

Hi Team,

I closed my account with Nedbank 5 years ago; unfortunately my Discovery Medical Aid was linked to the Nedbank Account. This resulted in Discovery paying out an amount of R1541.00 to my closed Nedbank Account; the call centre confirmed that the funds had landed in a suspense account. The consultant made the first fatal error in a series of errors by telling me that I could go and get these funds out of the suspense account at ANY branch.

I proceeded to go through to the Sandton City branch where Norah assisted me initially however your systems were offline for 4 days and therefore she was powerless. I proceeded to go back to the branch earlier this week and guess what; the systems are STILL offline.

My last resort was to go to your social media page and contact your assistance center via Facebook Messenger; after much deliberation they responded and indicated that I would have to go to the branch where I first opened my account. Completely different information when compared to the call center.

It is 2019; please explain to me HOW in the world one has to go into a branch with their ID book to release funds from your suspense account back to Discovery? Surely if you can see that the Nedbank account is closed; just return the funds to Discovery and allow them to proceed accordingly.

If you can't do that; at least have the decency to provide CORRECT information the first time around; imagine a client is sitting in Cape Town or even London for that fact; will they board a plane to go to Johannesburg to visit the Greenstone Branch to release an amount of R1541??

I honestly don't have the energy to deal with you guys. I would really like it if you just assist in returning these funds to Discovery. There is a reason I closed my account 5 years ago and have never looked back to Nedbank for banking assistance.

Please contact me with the intention to resolve this.
