12% Brokerage fee on my interest earned-How can that be?

Share account ***. I see I pay a brokerage fee of approx. 12% on the interest we receive on this account? Where did this originate? Seems to be going on for years? I tried writing an email to get clarity on this huge fee, but got no reply? Very disappointed.
