Breach of POPIA

I registered on Ithuba National lottery but found that, as I did not complete my profile, I could not play online. In order to complete the profile it was required that I upload FICA documents. I declined to to do so and tried to un-register. I found no way to un-register so I sent them a mail to un-register me. They responsed saying that in order to un-register I need to send them a copy of my ID. I refused and after various back and forth mails in which they are insisting that I supply a copy of my ID I eventually initiated the process of laying a complaint with the Information Regulator. One should not be required to provide more identifying information to un-register than what is required to register. I never completed the profile and never uploaded FICA documents yet I am required to do so when un-regsitering.

I have initiated the process of laying such complaint in terms of POPIA. More feedback to come.
