National Health Care Medical Cover

I've been trying to get assistance with my chronic meds for the last 3 months. I've spent hours at the gp, clicks and been back and forth with their call centre's who only good at passing the buck.

They confirm that the medication is on the formulary, but can't explain why it cannot be processed at clicks pharmacy. Clicks staff have tried calling on several occasions and have spent hours trying to assist me. My GP has called several times.

I've logged calls with their management, but even they can't give me a straight answer on why I can't get my medication. I've since spent close to a thousand rand on meds they should be covering.

I have a colleague who has had just as much issues with meds and their formulary so I'm assuming it's there way of avoiding having to cover clients medication costs.

Good Afternoon Ruzdim A,

With reference to your hello peter complaint received, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused for the past three months.

Due to a change in service providers, the medication is no longer available on the formulary.

The medication prescribed by your GP was therefore not on the formulary list and as per our telephonic conversation with you, we requested a copy of your claims to be submitted for reimbur*****t.

One of our consultants provided her direct contact number and email address to you for your aforementioned colleague that was experiencing issues too. The latest condition specific formulary list was sent to you via email. However, for future reference, kindly view the formulary list on the Mediscor website.

Please submit your claims so that we can reimburse you for the costs that you have incurred over the last 3 months relating to your chronic medication.

Once again we apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Kind Regards,
The National HealthCare Team
