Ruined

I never thought there would be in a position where i would be complaining about my experience with any company but this has been my worst. A while ago i was going through some financial difficulty and i was advised to go and get assistance from the Debt review services. I work as a credit controller in the finance department, and one of the requirements is that i have a good record. I spoke to a lady and she was well informed and assisted me the best way she could. One thing that i was not given the privileged to know was that i would be listed on the national credit Bureau upon signing the agreement. Today i spoke to a lady by the name of Jadele who admitted that they don't tell their clients such information because according to her most companies don't do credit checks when employing. I was very shocked by that statement because to my knowledge companies in SA most of them do credit checks. Bare in mind that i had cancelled their services and i have been paying my accounts without the help of the company, But that still doesn't change the fact that my name will be listed on the NCB for the next five years and they wont remove it until I settle all my debts and send them proof I've paid up.

I do understand the process and how they involve most financial institutes in order to help us since me as i got myself into a financial strain. All i needed to know from the beginning was for them to tell me that i would be listed on National Credit Bureau after signing with them also the contract i signed also did not state such, which is why i was shocked to find out that they took the decency to list me. This matter has affected me in the worst was possible way as i have to remain in my current job possibly for 5 years and if i cant pay or settle them all as soon as possible. I cant apply for jobs in my field as they have made it clear that you need to have a clean credit to be in the field that I'm in. Nullifying the fact that i am not even a client of the NDC anymore.

If you are need NDC's assistance with your finances well and good, i just wish they would be honest to people working in our field how this might affect us when looking for other job opportunities in the future while on debt review.
