obtaining information without my consent for debt review, violating my rights

I received a call today regarding debt counselling and refused to give my details online, the next thing i receive an sms that says i gave consent to request my credit report which is not true. This debt councillors force people to apply for debt counselling even if your refused, they violated my rights as a consumer and the next thing i will find myself to be under debt counselling which i never consent to. Can they stop obtaining information without my knowledge and the consultant to be disciplined as they are not truthful.
