Absolutely pathetic customer service from the NCC. No call backs, no replies to mails, no correspondence, unable to get hold of any roleplayers, overall ignorance of consumer's plight.

In a nutshell, I bought a car cash (EFT transaction) last year November 2016 at Right Cars (dealership in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town). I found out a few weeks after that, beginning December 2016, that the engine needed an overhaul (took the car to reputable mechanic). When I contacted the Salesperson, he said there was nothing they could do about it and when I spoke to the Branch Manager, the guy was utterly rude and disrespectful.

Then I contacted a Mediator, SA Consumer Complaints, to deal with my case. Well, the dealership only rep**** with 1 email and ignored all requests for a reply after that. I was then referred by SA Consumer Complaints to MIOSA.

MIOSA was also ignored by the Dealership and I was further referred to the National Consumer Commission. All documentation was submitted on 29 June 2017. I was informed that it takes them 60 days per case. After a 1½months, which was last week, I called back to enquire about progress on my case. After numerous emails, making calls and leaving message, I was informed to my horror that my case file went missing. I had to forward all the documents again! And now I am once again unable to get hold of anyone there! The service has been pathetic all round. I even sent an email to the Commissioner, Mr Ebrahim Mohamed, which was only forwarded to their complaints department and nothing happened!!!

These are the contact numbers I have: 012- ********** Call Centre Number 012- ********** Pinky Makhanya who’s dealing with my case 012- ********** Fikile who’s Pinky’s supervisor 012- ********** Prudence Moilwa who’s Fikile’s supervisor

Needless to say that ALL PHONES are just ringing ALL THE TIME! This is really quite depressing, frustrating and disappointing… The NCC is supposed to protect the consumer, but the service I am receiving from them is a clear indication that nothing will come from this….

After deciding the right procedures/processes to follow, nearly a year of fighting and with the car which is currently parked for months now, I am desperate for help. My transport costs has tripled for me and my son, not to mention the inconvenience and danger travelling by taxi to and from work and my son with private shuttle to and from school.

Due to the NCC’s incompetence, total lack of customer service, lack of empathy etc, etc, and losing my case file, PLEASE HELP ME…

I even called this morning (4/9/2017) and absolutely no one is available, phones still ringing and I have no idea what is happening with my case...
