You really are left naked if you're insured with this lot

It is easy to sign up, but don't expect a successful claim.

I had a claim for our camera equipment that was insured through Naked. It was ensured as seperate items each with it's own premium and serial numbers etc listed. It was not insured under household items, on the app it showed that it is covered for business use, theft accidental damage etc. They did make it clear that it is not covered when ****** from a vehicle. The camera gear was ****** from our house and Naked refused to pay because of "insufficient evidence of forced entry" They did not come to the scene, they did not even contact the SAPS person investigating the case. I have since cancelled all the insurance I had with Naked which included home and vehcile insurance. Thank goodness I learned my lesson with camera equipment and not something more expensive.

Hi Barnard,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the cover conditions.

We want to assure you that your claim was assessed strictly in line with our cover conditions and claims procedures. Under our Single-Item cover, items are protected against theft from your home only when there is clear evidence of forced or violent entry, if the home is unoccupied at the time of the loss.

We completely understand how frustrating this situation is, and a member of our team will reach out to you directly to discuss this further and answer any outstanding questions you may have.

Thank you, I have received the feedback from Naked, more of the same. Naked could not find evidence of forced entry or violent entry in spite of the fact that our house alarm went off and the burglars got through two security gates and a door inside of a secure complex. What's worse is that when an item like this that is not even under household content is insured for business use ie wedding photos and other there would be no sign of forced entry or anything else because all of the place we work are open with free access, hence why we need insurance. At the end of the day it was my fault, I was the idiot dumb enough to trust Naked Insurance, I won't make that mistake again.
