Worst Client Service Ever
I hit a pothole while traveling back from a weekend away on the 21st of September and realised I didn't have a jack in my boot, so phoned Naked immediately to get assistance (I was hoping for someone to come out with some tools to help me). I was then told that this classifies as an accident and my car will need to be towed all the way back to Pretoria (I was just outside of Lydenburg). The tow truck arrived pretty quickly and my car was taken to a dealer in Pretoria North to be fixed the very next day and I duly submitted a claim online (on the 22nd Sep). I was told via email that the assessor will be appointed shortly. I spoke to multiple people via email about the accident number (which I had no idea I had to get), which I eventually reported online. I waited a week and heard nothing. I emailed again to find out what is happening with my car and was told that an assessor has been appointed but it will take 2 - 5 working days to get the final report. I spoke to the assessor the very next day and was told that the only damage on my car is a flat tyre and bent rim and that they would tow my car to a panel beaters closer to my house. I would assume since it is just a tyre and rim, that it would be done in a day, but I once again emailed this morning to get a response of: 5 working days to repair my car (if all goes smoothly). I honestly wish I had never contacted Naked Insurance at all. I have never had to claim before, so had no idea how absolutely terrible their service is and I am very disappointed. I just need a new tyre and for the rim to be bent straight. If I'd known this was going to take so long and that I'd be without a car for more than 2 weeks, I would have phoned a garage in Lydenburg and asked them to bring tools to help me. I can't believe that it is taking this long and that no one has actually done anything to fix my car. This is absolutely unacceptable.
JP here from Team Naked! As per our call, I am very sorry for the delay with your claim. I will keep pushing the team to get you sorted ASAP.
Just to clarify - everything was done within the set timeline. The vehicle was towed, the assessor appointed and the assessment completed and authorized within 5 working days. Your vehicle is currently being marked for release and will be taken to the repairer where the repairs will be completed within the estimated time for repairs of 5 days.
I understand that the process was/is frustrating for you since it could only be the tyre and rim that was damaged. However, the process to tow the vehicle and do the complete assessment was done with your best interest in mind because there could've easily been more serious damage, which would've worsened had you driven the vehicle after the spare tyre was put on.
I understand the frustration of not having your vehicle for a period longer than you believe necessary and I will keep pushing to get this finalised for you ASAP. Our clients do have the option to add car hire to their policies for situations like this:Step 1 - Click on your vehicle card.
Step 2 - Scroll down to the "Optional cover" section.
Step 3 - Click on "Add car hire".
Step 4 - Choose what type of car you'd like and your premium will be adjusted accordingly.
Shout if you need any further help.
Thanks!
