Windscreen replacement excess not acceptable

Not happy at all.

Submitted a claim for a windscreen replacement, and still have to an excess of R1000. After paying nearly 22k worth of premiums the last 2 years, with zero claim history, I am still expected to pay this R1000 excess.

It can easily be waived by the insurance company, but I guess this won't be happening. Its small things like this that causes one to change insurer.

Hi Andrew, we regret hearing this type of feedback from our clients as we strive for excellent customer satisfaction. Please note that as per our policy wording, when you submit a claim, you are liable for the excess amount. The reason we do not offer zero excess is that at the different excess levels, we have worked out the optimal claims cost and premium offering. This allows us to balance our books better and offer better premiums to our customers.

Hi,

And this is exactly the response I expected. A R1000 excess you refuse to budge on or reduce. This is exactly why, this coming Thursday, after my repair, I will change my insurance provider.

I refuse to accept that a R1000 waiver will not "balance your books" or drastically increase premiums. The administration and payment processing for a windscreen replacement is fairly simple and straightforward.

I will take my nearly 20k worth of premiums a year, to another provider.

Thank you for your awful service.
