Unexpected Client Service
I was unhappy with an incident with my previous household contents insurer. I decided to look around and came across Naked Insurance which, before doing some looking around, I'd seen an advert for here and there but I didn't know much about them. I did see that they were underwritten by Hollard though which I'll admit, gave me some peace of mind that they weren't a "fly by night". I was able to get a quote online without the hassle of being on the phone and then being hounded every day afterwards for an answer as to whether or not I wanted to insure my contents with them which in itself was a great pleasure. If you're like me, you hate talking to people on the phone, especially sales people. Just shy of my third premium with Naked Insurance, two of my prized possessions took a tumble along with me and were damaged. I tried what I could to fix them, thinking that there was no way that I would get help from Naked Insurance since I hadn't even paid three premiums yet. After realizing I was not up to the repair task, I thought I would take a chance and put in a claim. Now, the items in question were under the "specified items" column of insured items. Little did I know, since I didn't take the time to read the documents sent to me, that I would be required to upload some documentation and photos of the items I wanted to specify. I actually lost my temper a bit with Jacob who was helping me and asked that he show me exactly where I was asked to do this. He remained perfectly calm and polite throughout the email correspondence and pointed out that it was in the documentation I had received. So, with my tail between my legs, I asked if he had any advice as to a way forward. Without much trouble, he arranged for me to send any info on the items in question after the fact and have me try and find some proof by way of photograph that I did indeed own the items. Fortunately, I did have something I could send them and the claim was processed. I KNOW that most insurers would have looked for a reason to not process the claim, where with Naked Insurance, it seemed to be the opposite. They were looking for a way to help me even after I had been a bit difficult. The process took a bit of time since the start of my claim, but that's to be expected when the client hasn't properly given the information needed. Thanks to Jacob and Naked Insurance
