Terrible Claims Process

Insured a brand new iPhone 13 128gb with Naked for about 24 months with no claims in that period where I was paying R346, insuring the device for R22000(when you insure, they allow you to choose how much you want to ensure for and your premium is based on how much your item is insured for. I unfortunately lost my phone and when I claimed, they stated they would only give me a claims card of R13000 - R1000 access because that’s how much the phone is going for in the market (which is not the case). I was sent from pillar to post for over a month because I could not understand why I was paying for R346, a premium that matches an insurance amount of R22000 but they wanted to give me R13000. Naked told me to reach out to Hollard, I was not insured with Hollard but Naked!!

I am now stuck with a R120000 claims card that cannot buy me the device I insured with them. Because even the R130000 before the excess amount is not how much a brand new iPhone 13 128gb is going for in the market. Not one of the stores their claims card works in has it for that amount. What a total reap off!!!!

Hi Zikhanyile,

While it's true that you had set your replacement value to R22 000.00, per our policy wording, you are required to update the replacement value you've set so that it correctly reflects the actual cost of replacing your device. We were able to source you a brand new iPhone 13 128GB for R13 000.00 and offered this device to you but you refused this offer. As you didn't want the device we proceeded to offer you a voucher at the cost of replacement, less your excess.

Please feel free to reach out to our helpdesk if you have any further questions.
