Sad experience with Naked Insurance
I joined Naked Insurance in November 2020. I had a flat battery on my vehicle yesterday. What bad an experience l had with this company. I called to ask for help, first my call was through in the third attempt. Secondly, the attended took my details and promised to come back to me in 5 to 10 minutes which turned out to be more than 30 minutes. Thirdly, my car got stuck far from the nearest battery assist centre such that l had to add R900 to the cover just get this guy to come and jump start my car. Fourthly, l opted for a tow truck because l was told there is Best Drive centre within 40Km of where l was hence the policy would cover that with no need for topup on my side. The attendent at Naked told me that that will be arranged, all l need would just be to purchase a new battery and pay for fitment costs. I called Best Drive Acornhoek to check availability and prices of batteries and was told they have no batteries. What a shock, so Naked merely wanted to just get rid of my nagging by towing my car to a useless centre which they did not even bother the check. I then had no option but to cancel the order for a tow truck. I had to phone my brother who drove a 40Km round trip to help jump start my car so that l was able to drive an 80Km round trip to buy and fit a new battery. To add salt to the wound, all this happened whilst rain was simply down-pouring. I am not sure if these guys really cover clients in rural areas or this insurance works better for those in towns. So sad and disappointing.
