Possibly the worst claims process for a ****** phone
Possibly the worst claims process for a ****** phone. My Samsung S23 Ultra which was covered with Naked Insurance was pickpocketed outside a bar on a Sunday night/Monday morning, went to report with my service provider (Vodacom) the next day, got an ITC number (device blacklisted) and reported at my nearest police station, got a case number.
Submitted a claim via the app on someone else device since my phone was ******. I was asked for proof of ownership and submitted an electronic copy of the receipt for when I purchased the device, police report ITC number ...all the details, only to be asked to provide a PHYSICAL COPY of the receipt later on, which thankfully I still have.
Now I'm being asked to provide receipts to prove I was at the place I was when the phone was ****** which I do not have as it was 1am outside a bar, furthermore I have to go back to Vodacom for a Whitelisting Report (which will be my second visit to Vodacom....away from work) and provide First, Last name of people I was with...whose full details I do not have as they were acquaintances.
It's been 5 days with the back and forth yet on their website they state that single item claims are processed fast (1-2 days), I indicated I provided all the details I have only to be asked to provide bar receipts and Full names of my acquaintances whom I only know on a first name basis to validate my claim.
There is a case number for the report I made for theft, in which I signed a sworn affidavit, and an ITC number detailing the ****** phone's blacklisting.
Signing up took minutes, yet the claims process drags for days. They say if I do not provide the extra within 2 business days they could reject my claim.... I mean who asks for a RECEIPT at every entertainment area they go to at 1am....worse still for a ****** phone.
Losing valuables is traumatising, but the experience of dealing with Naked Insurance claims department is even more traumatic....as if being a victim of crime is not bad enough!!!!!
DO BETTER!!!
