Naked nothing more than an *********** middleman

Naked insurance is just a fancy broker without any ground staff, everyone is either an *********** sub-contractor or outsourced partner so blame can be passed on... On the 6th of August 2025 my vehicle was ****** from Johannesburg CBD. I logged a claim on the morning of the 7th August. The following Monday we were advised that a validator would be in contact with us to verify the claim. He made initial contact with my husband on Tuesday evening advising that he would send through everything he needed via WhatsApp shortly. However, by the next afternoon we had not received anything and the number he called me from was off. We contacted the insurance again to find out if he was legitimate as the previous Friday we had received a **** call from someone claiming they had found the car and wanted money for towing. After contacting the insurance, the validator made contact again and we sent through everything he requested. He contacted us on the 13th of August to say he had located my car, and it is at Duduza Police Station. He said once he submitted his report the insurance would be in touch. This is when all hell broke loose. I had to initiate contact with the insurance constantly despite being promised updates. On the 20th August I was told by Naked that salvagers Auction Nation have collected the vehicle and would take it to the Aeroton pound. Thereafter it would be transported to the salvagers yard for assesment and that would be done by the 22nd. When I contacted the insurance on Friday to get an update on the status, they told me an agent was trying to locate the vehicle at the VCIU in Aeroton. Following up again on Monday, I could not get hold of the claim’s handler (as he was on leave) so I went to the VCIU to see if my vehicle was there. It was not. I then drove to Duduza Police Station AND FOUND MY VEHICLE WAS STILL THERE, NAKED HAD **** ABOUT THE COLLECTION!!! When I raised this with Naked, they blamed the third-party salvagers for the misinformation. Another salvager then contacted me for the Duduza Station contact details, details that had provided to me by their validator! The next day I was informed that moving the vehicle from Duduza to the pound is the responsibility of the police and Nakeds hands are tied until this has been done! What changed between last week when the vehicle was supposedly being moved to the salvage for assessment? The manager from Naked tried to assist and suggested perhaps I go to the Duduza Police Station to see if I could get the vehicle released. However, when I got there, there was a community protest outside the police station claiming that the police at the station are ******* and accept bribes. I was forcibly told to leave the station premises otherwise I would be harmed. I am stressed that my vehicle is at a ******* police station and has been for almost a month. Naked still insists that there is nothing they can do to get the car from the Duduza Police Station. I sent through pictures of the vehicle that I took when I went to the police station (2 weeks ago) after the car was found and they have said an assessor would look at it. We have received feedback that these are not good enough and that they would need to get more pictures which they are struggling to do. These are the pictures that surely should have been taken by the salvagers or validator or someone from Naked. I have not had my vehicle for almost a month and don't have any estimate from Naked of how much longer it will take for a resolution as they claim they cannot get the car from Duduza. Naked doesn’t seem to care how this impacts my husband’s business as it he is now without a business vehicle. Even if we had a rental option on the policy this would have almost lapsed as it is normally only 30 days, it’s been 28 days! They also informed me that this is taking so long because the vehicle was found had it not been found the claim would have been settled…WHY AM I AT A DISADVANTAGE BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS FOUND? Surely the insurance is in a better position because they can recoup costs now that the vehicle is found. Since they can’t seem to even take pictures of the vehicle let alone recover it from the police station surely it should be treated as unrecoverable as almost a month later, I do not have my vehicle and even if they do eventually retrieve it, it will still need to go to a panel beater for repairs. Naked is a broker and can’t make any decisions or deploy people to do any work because of this I recently learnt that they are under written by a different insurance company. The online sign-up experience is seamless but the follow through on this claim has been pathetic. I have had to constantly prompt for updates and whenever we call the claims handler or manager are in a meeting. Naked is an insurance company taking insurance from another insurance company. They are just middleman with no people to do anything other than attempt to co-ordinate with sub-par contractors. PS this is a re-post as my husband tried to post this last week, but it was removed, and he was told he was not a verified client of Naked. Even though the policy is in my name, he is the registered owner and driver of the ****** vehicle, so this seems like an underhanded way to get the post removed.
