Estoppel violation!
My vehicle recently got damaged on a trip from Johannesburg to Pietermaritzburg however Naked insure are refusing to pay for it.
Their excuse is that i didn't take photos of the vehicles, yet an agent from their company emailed me and stated that i can take the photos as soon a i can meaning when the car arrives to Pietermaritzburg, as they where still in transit.
Further they damaged my vehicle at Auction nation in Durban and further refusing to take liability for it because they state that photos was not taken initially to activate the insurance yet I have a letter of confirmation, premium deducted and their agent emailed me the day the policy was purchased to say I can take the pictures when the cars come to Pietermaritzburg.
Now traditionally when insurance is taken, you buy first then you go to your dealer to take pictures of the car to confirm it exists but cover is active from the time you get a policy number which i got immediately and had my premiums were deducted immediately.
Now if Naked insure tow truck driver has pictures of the car before going to their yard in Durban, the client has the logbook and license in his name, what more do they need to prove the car exists?
Lastly the same logic should apply to my other vehicle that was purchased the same time as the damaged vehicle and should not be covered, but they accepted the cover for it and the photos where done two days later and approved, just shows their inconsistencies and excuses when it's time to pay out.
Imagine having pictures from their tow truck driver and your own proving the condition of the car and thereafter their yard damages the car and they don't want to take responsibility for it and you have pictures!
Rather stick to a known insurer for things like cars and property than to be disappointed like that.
