Disgusting claims service for a windscreen

If I could give this place zero stars then I would.

Let me start by saying that I have been with naked insurance for over 5 year, premiums were paid on time, accepted all their premium increases and high excess increases without any questions.

On the 15th of December I submitted a windscreen claim. This is were the nightmare started. Because I didn’t submit the claim within 30 days they gave me back and forth stories of how I was in the wrong and they need to refer to a manager. I said to them that life gets busy and I didn’t have the time. The windscreen as chipped and then later on started cracking.

They took 3 days to approve it. I said to them on many occasions that my car is under warranty I need OEM windscreen they said no they are fitting generic which is SABS approved. That was already a loosing battle and I was already not impressed with their service. They allocated the claim to Glass Group on of which contacted me saying that they can only replace the windscreen after Christmas which I was understanding about. When it came to the day of fitting the windscreen they call me to tell me the glass broke.

When I asked them what glass it was Thursday said it was Fuyao glass. Now you tell me if that was the only glass left and they wanted to fit it on my car imagine if I drove with it and it just cracks. This is the same insurance company that does not want to put OEM.

It’s been almost a month now and I complained to Naked insurance and they still said they are not authorising OEM glass because according to their policy that they can put generic SABS approved.

I am still waiting for them there is no response from Glass group and no response from the complaints department. They take your money so quick and increase your excesses so high but come time to pay for a simple claim they cannot even honor that. I’m extremely dissatisfied with the way they process and handle claims. Their service is disgusting to the core.

I will be looking for another insurance. These people are *******!!!!!
