COMPLAINT REGARDING CLAIM

I am extremely disappointed with Naked Insurance. After my husband hit a pothole on the R103 towards Kestel, we tried to claim for the damaged tyre through our insurance, only to be told that tyres are not covered.

Had we known this, we would never have chosen or recommended Naked Insurance to our family and friends. In fact, we have proof of several current customers whom we led to Naked Insurance and can provide this upon request.

Our previous insurer covered a similar incident a few years ago, paying for the tyre in full even with no rim damage, and waived the excess as they pursued the local municipality through the courts. Naked Insurance and its underwriters, however, have made the poor business decision to save R1500 and lose a customer. The tyre cost R3300, with an excess of R1800, and it simply does not make sense to lose a customer over this amount!

We have provided proof of the incident through our tracking company, yet this decision has not been reconsidered. Until we move our insurance, we will be hesitant to drive, as Naked Insurance seems to have no problem taking premiums but significant issues when it comes to paying their customers.

We will be cancelling our insurance and moving to a provider who values their customers and provides the coverage they promise.
