1 YEAR OF WAITING!! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH NAKED!!!

PATHETIC CLAIM HANDLING!! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH NAKED!!!

I registered a claim on the 1st August 2023, it is now basically 1 year and my claim has not been finalised.

The vehicle was sent to a substandard repairer without my consent in order to keep the repair below the value to write off the vehicle (the words of the assessor). Safe to say, the vehicle was not repaired to standard. Almost 1 year later, when returning the vehicle the same repairer quoted for additional work to repair. Naked then offered this amount in a cash settlement with a condition to abscond them from any further claim in the hope that this cash amount would entice me. When taking the vehicle for an independent assessment it showed the work that was initially supposedly done by the repairer was not done at all and the actual issue was because they did not repair what was part of the initial repair work and only did a patch job and the repair would cost far more than what they were offering. Nearly 1 year later, and Naked is now writing off the vehicle. On the 10 July 2024 they indicated they would collect the vehicle, the vehicle has still not been collected. I was requested to courier documents to their office, which was delivered on 12 July 2024.

I receive no further updates or replies to my emails from their team. Am I to wait another year for this process to be complete?

The false advertising of the waiting game is absolute *******, I've been waiting for 1 year!!!!!

Hi Basheer, We understand your frustration concerning the progression of your claim and we truly empathise. The claim was authorised and the vehicle was repaired and collected by you last year. The vehicle has been drivable for the past year. A month ago, we were notified of some issues post-repair and that you had taken the vehicle to the repairer for rectification without informing us.

Through our complaints resolution process, we investigated the matter and decided to adhere to your request and have agreed to write off the vehicle in order to avoid any other issues as a result of the initial damage. We understand that this process has been tedious and stressful, however, we're hoping to finalise the process as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

No your facts are incorrect. After collecting the vehicle from the repairer, there were a number of issues highlighted. The repairer lost my locknuts and the issues on the driving of the vehicle was raised. the vehicle was driving in that condition for the whole year during the back and forth with you guys, the repair notified me that the insurer/assessor has indicated the vehicle must be brought back, it was not done at my own accord. Even the outcome from the ombudsman indicated that the insurer has agreed to repair the vehicle.
My request was that the cash settlement was not an option because the insurer would cede liability on further work and a second opinion highlighted the repairer inferior work and what the actual issue was and was not prepared to take upon those risks. So don't suggest that this is adherence to my request.
