***** company. Got ****med. Avoid at all cost.

In June I bought flights for a trip from Portugal to South America that was supposed to start on the 31st of October. Paid additional fees for each flight for reserved seating. Less than 3 weeks before the first flight I booked through MyTrip I got a notification that the departure date of my intercontinental flight I had booked through MyTrip was moved from the 31st of October to the 29th, so departure was 2 days earlier... Since I booked the flight from Portugal on the 31st, I planned to arrive in Portugal on the 30th. This change meant I had to spend a lot of money to be able to go to Portugal 2 days earlier in order to catch this flight. The only alternative the absolutely beyond terrible MyTrip customer support (more on this later) was offering was to refund this single flight, which meant my entire trip to South America was about to be ruined.

After days of arguing with so called "customer support" I figured out they were absolutely not willing to help or even have the slightest bit of empathy for my situation, and just booked another flight to Portugal through a different channel in order to catch the changed flight.

As mentioned earlier, I paid (EUR 58.00 in total) for reserved seating for this particular booking, which consisted of 1 intercontinental (10.5h) flight and a short (1h) domestic connection flight. Due to the flight that got changed I didn't get the reserved seat I paid for. Obviously for the long haul flight the seat reservation was a lot more expensive than the short one, but because MyTrip doesn't specify the individual fees on their invoice all they want to do is refund me 50% of the paid fees, EUR 29.00 for not receiving the reserved seat on the long haul flight, for which I paid more than EUR 50.00. This is just beyond ridiculous, and literally a ****.

Last but not least at all.... the flight change caused me having a 2 nights long layover for which MyTrip themselves offered to refund a hotel for max 1 night (which is insanely weird, my layover caused by them is 2 nights) up to $100. They said that after the trip, all I have to do is upload the receipt in order to receive this refund. However this was all a trick to simply make me accept the terms, because all MyTrip is currently doing is redirecting me to the airline, which has no proper English support, and are also not responsible since this refund was offered by MyTrip and not them.

Oh and a little side note, once you've booked NONE of the changes to your flight will be reflected on their platform. You will have to struggle with airline references and looking up your flight on the airlines website every day to stay up to date with your flight. Online check-in through MyTrip (which they advertise with) is not existing. If you book through MyTrip, you will not know whether or not you are able to fly until you arrive at the airlines check-in desk at the airport.

Long story short, this company is a big *****. They charge you fees that they have to pay to the airline, but they often just don't book these additional services, or in case they do they just cancel your flight and refuse to refund.

Their customer service is also beyond terrible. Their chat consists of presumably Indian freelancers (they sometimes even use different company names they apparently work for at the same time) and all they do is copy and paste useless lines of texts. Nobody offers actual help with an issue that MyTrip themselves is causing. Support in your own language is extremely limited.

Hopefully this honest review will function as a warning for future potential customers. Do NOT book here unless you want to be stressed 24/7 about whether or not you are going to be able to fly.

This will remain a 1 star review until MyT*******ers me a reasonable refund solution for missing seats and the forced layover.
