PRESENTATION AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE

<div>The Nexus Group invited us to attend the marketing and advertising presentation on 21 May 2021. My partner is a traveler, we therefore decided to sign up and paid a deposit of R25000. We signed a contract without our knowledge as we were advised we were signing debit order form for administration fee, which was cited to be a once off payment, The contract was not discussed with us.

The "contract" was subsequently emailed to me. There were clauses in the contract which contradicted the information presented to us during the presentation. e.g. The debit order was not once off, instead it a monthly amount of R376. We therefore took advantage of the five day cooling off period clause , cancelled the contract and requested a refund. Bank details were provided.

Erica at Nexus contacted us to confirm receipt of the cancelation email and that they are aware of the refund due to us. To date we have not received our refund and no one responds to the follow up emails on the refund.

The Company is good when contacting customers and want them to sign up. However they are terrible, they are the worst at resolving client queries. Ref TRA *** Q ***.

Reviewer Update
The company is still not willing to refund me. They acknowledged the debt but at first cited that they will conduct an audit before my membership fee can be refunded. They however could not estimate the turnaround time for the audit.

I subsequently referred the matter to the Consumer Ombudsman and the company provided a different reason for not being able to refund me. They cited that they are still recovering from 2020 /2021 lockdowns restrictions. Big Companies such as My Travelution/Nexus Group should not expect to continue operating at the expense of customers/individuals who are equally or worse affected by the current state of our economy and lockdowns
