Who is worse Telkom or Mweb? you decide.
I switched over from Telkom to Mweb, because of bad service and billing issues. I used the Mweb adsl for a while whilst I had my Telkom line. Since I cancelled the Telkom line I had to make the switch from Adsl to LTE. First of all I was charged a R250.00 delivery fee for the simcard plus another R250.00 for the activation of the sim card. I would have collected the sim card myself, but it is not an option with Mweb, they "have " to send it via courier. So this brought me to R500.00 before even starting.
Ok so I got the sim card, LTE powered by Cell C. After a hell of a struggle to get it working with the settings and bouncing back and forth between Cell C and Mweb. I was finally able to connect. It worked well for a couple of weeks, until one night, the sim card just stopped functioning , in the middle of a movie that we were watching on Netflix. I couldn`t reach Mweb because it was after 8pm. The next day I explained to the agent what happened and that we tested the sim card on another device with the same result. (bad sim card). I asked him to order a new sim card and inquired if I will be charged for the delivery and activation again as it has only been some weeks and the sim card has already failed. At first he said he is not sure and then he said I would not be charged. (we will have to wait and see about that one.) A couple days later I called again to find out about the progress of the sim card. He rep**** that it has been placed on hold because I reside on the border of their coverage map! I asked him how could they just decide to put a customer`s order on hold without discussing it? And any body in their right mind can see that I have already used more than 150 Gig data in just a few weeks how can it be that I don`t have coverage?! It is now almost a week later and still no sim card.
