I bought a property in Kleinbron Brackenfell. The previous owner have a contract with MWeb as his internet provider. On 1st of December he gave a month's notice that he will be relocating. He needed MWeb to contact the Fibre provider Octotel to release the Fibre line at this address so that our internet contract holder, Vodacom could get Octotel to activate our connection, so that we could have internet ( for which we've been paying over R700 for December and for January) As we've moved in early in December, the previous owner gave us his internet password so that we can use his Fibre internet until the switch is made. Needless to say, as soon as he gave his notice, we could not connect to the internet. We ended up buying mobile data, while the internet here were paid for up and until end of December. We did not want to bother him, so we bought mobile data. Our service provider, Vodacom started the process of getting our Fibre activated by Octotel. The answer from Octotel? MWeb must contact Octotel to release the line so that we can connect to the Fibre line at this adress. The previous owner/ actual client of MWEB contacted MWeb since the beginning of January to try and find out what the problem is. It is nearly the middle of January and not Vodacom or Octotel can can do anything to activate our account as MWeb chooses to ignore their customers' repeatedly requests and queries and plights to contact Octotel to release the line. So MWEB with its uncaring (or plain brainless) members of staff is the one weakest link in this whole process. We've been paying our contract with Vodacom, the previous owner keeps paying MWeb, and both of us must buy mobile data for hundreds of rands in order to have internet. IS there someone at MWeb who can explain to us why this process can not happen as it should?
