I've been an MWeb customer for over 15 years and I think that is how long it will take to tell this sad story. Anyway decided to dump my 3G for ADSL in December last year. Was told I would have to pay a cancellation fee of just under R1500. Not too happy with this as I felt that as I was upagraing they should waive the premature cancellation but anyway I paid the fee in mid December. My new router arrived and after just over a week my ADSL packed up so started lodging complaints from the 20 December. It took literally dozens of phone calls and emails but eventually instead of the Telkom fault I was continually told was the problem I was given a second rate router, not the one advertised, and my problem was apparently solved in the second week of February. The amount of time I spent racking up phone calls and bills to get this fixed runs to hours and hundreds of Rands. Unfortunately this is not the end of the story as I now sit with an ongoing billing problem. In mid December I paid just shy of R1500 to canccel the 3G and at the end of the month my debit order took off just on R400 for the pro rated ADSL which did not work. In January they billed me for R650 for my not working ADSL and R499 for my cancelled 3G subscription. After phoning and complaining and emailing again they reversed the R499 for my 3G but said they could not credit me for the ADSL as they had to fix it before they could credit me for the time I could not use it. Quite disingeneous but what the hell, I was assured they would credit me with around R900 on the February account. So guess my surprise when in the middle of February I receive my statement where they charge me R650 for my now working for a few days ADSL, credit me R900 for the time it did not work and then charge me for the reversal of my 3G in January and charge again for February. So instead of being R300 in credit at the end of February they take over R700 out of my bank account ostensibly for the 3G service I cancelled in December which I am still paying for in February and goodness knows what will happen in March. By my reckoning I am R1000 in the hole and there is no sign that this will ever be resolved. The countless Yolanda's, Esme's and Brents I have spoken to always commit to resolving the problem and getting bak to me but they never do. The last statement I received is a beauty where they actually correct the wrong billing and reverse the transaction only to immediately repeat it.

Their customer line is useless and their billing department can not read a simple statement and no one has the authority to fix this. The laughable thing is that I have kept every single mail which includes the ones where they apologise profusely for getting it wrong and admitting that they have erred but within a few days your new account rolls in and it is wrong again. Then you have to phone in to find yourself talking to another Brent filled with promises to fix your problem but sadly never calls back. Not once have Mweb even offered to compensate me for my time and phone bills to try and fix this, they just carry on *****ing my money on a monthly basis and it appears that they do not give a damn to fix it.

Should anyone from MWEB actually give a damn please just look up my user name and take a look at the number of calls and mails sent to you since December over this simple issue of an upgrade. I am embarassed to be a custmoer of your, your bungling incapacity make our governmental institutions look like well oiled machines.

All I want is my account to be fixed and an aplogy for wasting my time for three months. Some consideration for my constant phone bills would aslo be appreciated but I doubt that would ever happen.

As soon as I can cancel and leave this company forever I will, the only problem is they will continue to charge me for eternity.

Best regards,
just got a call from customer services who have spent 25 minutes trying to tell me that the billing is correct and that they made a small error in December by notusng the R1500 i paid as a cancellation fee but rather using it to pay my account. I honestly don't believe thi nonsense and find it insulting that after theee months of hassles they are now saying that the bills are correct. The "we are really sorry to hear about this ..... "cliched reply just does not cut it.
