UNSATISFACTORY OUTCOME RECEIVED FROM MWEB

Good Day Hellopeter

I want to thank you profoundly for your assistance in getting Mweb to respond to my enquiries. However, on Friday, 15 May 2026, I received this response follow up with a call by one of their agents.

What does not sit well with me is the fact that the e-mail states that the Finance Team will contact me "to address the billing and disconnection concerns, and clarify the next steps so this can be resolved properly." When contacting me on Friday the 15th instant, the consultant at Mweb explained to me that I have to pay AGAIN a R249.00 for connection and they will write down the "R650.00" or thereabouts that I was indebted to Mweb. Now, I have one question, why do I have to pay AGAIN for connection fees when I had already done so months ago. Due to the poor service received by their technicians who promised to come and set it up properly for me, I was not privileged to use ANY service from Mweb. I instructed the consultant that I refuse to pay connection fees AGAIN and to cancel whatever supposed 'deal' they are offering. I would like them to collect their equipment at my premises and reiterate that I will NOT pay a cent to Mweb for the putrid service received. The consultant averred that because there was no record of me trying to call them I would be liable. To this, I informed her that Mweb is the worse company to try and contact as I had tried many times and after 40 to 45 minutes of being on hold, you are simply cut off. Whilst she apologized profusely, Mweb does not offer an amicable solution to my problem and I am no longer interested in acquiring their services.

PLEASE ASK THEM TO COME AND REMOVE THEIR EQUIPMENT (ROUTER ETC) AS I WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE AFTERWARDS!

MANY THANKS HELLOPETER ... YOUR SERVICES ARE EXCELLENT!!

Mweb’s reply 13 May 2026 at 09:37 Hi Alfreda, Thank you for taking the time to share this detailed update with us. We understand how upsetting and confusing this situation has been, especially having the router installed, receiving confirmation that the service is active, yet still being unable to use the internet and then seeing notifications about disconnection. Being left without a working service after so much effort is understandably frustrating, and this is not the experience we want for our clients. Given the conflicting communication you’ve received and the fact that the service has not been usable, we’ve arranged for our Finance Team to review your account in full. They will reach out to you directly to address the billing and disconnection concerns, and clarify the next steps so this can be resolved properly. If you require any further assistance, you’re welcome to reach out via a direct message on Hello Peter. Kind regards, Mweb Team

Good day Alfreda, Thank you for your detailed feedback and for raising your concerns so clearly. We’ve escalated your matter to our Billing Team for a full investigation so they can review your account, previous charges, and the service history and provide you with formal feedback and clarification. At this stage, the service cannot be cancelled while the account is in a suspended status. In order to proceed with cancellation and equipment collection, any outstanding balance will first need to be settled as part of the account closure process. We appreciate how frustrating this situation has been for you, and once the Billing Team has completed their review, they will be in contact with the next steps. Kind regards,
 The Mweb Team

Best regards,

AW

Reviewer Update
Very many thanks hellopeter for your as usual prompt response.

I note Mweb's response to my review of even date (Monday, 18 May 2026). However, I categorically state that I am not liable to pay Mweb a blue cent. Should this matter not be dealt with amicably, I shall refer same to the ICASA (Telecommunications Regulator) or the Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) since I have already pursued the avenues of Mweb's internal departments.

To reiterate, I do not believe that I am liable to pay AGAIN for the same services and equally, I have not used any services offered by Mweb hence I do not take responsibility for any outstanding amount(s) that Mweb aver I owe to them.

Many thanks for your kind assistance once again hellopeter.

Yours sincerely

Alfreda Williams

Good day Alfreda,Thank you for your detailed feedback and for clearly outlining your position. We acknowledge your view that you are not liable for the outstanding balance and your concern that the service was not utilised. We also understand how strongly you feel about this matter and your intention to pursue external escalation should it remain unresolved. At this stage, the account remains active in our billing system, and charges are app**** in line with the agreed service terms linked to the subscription. Any billing reflects the service allocation on the account, regardless of usage activity, as per standard service provisioning rules.Should you wish to proceed with cancellation, this can be actioned once the account status allows for closure in line with the service agreement requirements. We will also ensure that any final account adjustments are reviewed as part of the standard closure process once cancellation is initiated. We appreciate your feedback and remain available should you require further clarification on the account structure or next steps.Kind regards,
 The Mweb Team
