UNJUST INCREASES BY MWEB

It is with absolute and utter frustration that I have to log this complaint against MWEB. My hubby took out a fibre contract with MWEB in June last year at R489/month for 20 Mbps Uncapped Fibre-MetroFibre, which they promised a month free. When I called toward the latter part of the year, I was told the month of June 2023 the same month the application was processed even before the router was activated was my free month. Yes then to add insult to injury I received an email dated 30/11/2023 advising of a price increase which is less than 6 months of the initial application and that we will now be charged R539/month for 25 Mbps Uncapped Fibre-MetroFibre. Not sure when I changed from 20 to 25 when they don’t answer calls. After numerous calls and holding on *** for up to 30 minutes at a time no call was answered. I resorted to emailing '***' on the 11/01/2024 and again on the 15/01/2024 due to no answer at the contact centre. Yesterday the 30/01/2024 I received another email advising there has been another increase this time to R575/month for 25 Mbps Uncapped Fibre-MetroFibre. Today yet again I was on hold 3 times for over 40 minutes and eventually on my 4th attempt had a voice prompt saying they are unable to take my call. How can 2 increases be implemented on less than 6 months of taking it out yet my colleague who lives in Soweto that holds the same contract didn’t receive a single increase. What is this now increases implemented to the areas we live. This is prejudice and unjust to honest paying citizens. If this is how we are to be treated, CANCEL THE SUBSCRIPTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
