Unfair Business practice
Dear Consumer Affairs
My name is Thuto Tema, an unemployed youth who depends on handouts from one day a week gardening jobs around Alexandra Township. I approached Mweb service provider after seeing their adverti*****t of a free router and prepaid services on their internet that was actual advertised which I find it easy to work on since I am not a permanent worker instead a job seeker. Background and Context: On my One Month which is December 2019 r I received the "Free router" and free sim card which was meant for prepaid services I started transferring my payment into their account as part of our prepaid agreement to pay as we go, Challenges Point NO1 On My second Month That's where I discovered found out that the MWEB has hidden agenda which was not what we agreed upon from our first day They then change their tone ,they said the router is actual prize R2000, which was not explained to me on the initial stage, POINT2 I started having problems with their internet in January as their data depleted after 10 days, and I only use the internet for job search and sending emails. around January I contacted Mr Zmarti from mweb to lodge a complaint around the dissatisfaction of their services. POINT 3 I paid 3 months for internet which was unsatisfactory MEANING IT NEVER LASTED FOR 10 DAYS POINT4 . I have sent an email and called Mweb several times ( they don't answer their calls) to terminate their services. I have not used their internet since January, and yet they are still charging me and billing me, money which I am not accountable for and forcefully trying to withdraw money from my bank account wich the bank is charging me because Im no longer getting any gardening jobs .. RECOMMENDATION I hereby would liketo humbly ask consumer care to intervene because I am currently unemployed due to covid 19, I am no longer getting gardening jobs due to the lockdown.
