Twenty years customer loyalty rewarded with broken promises

It’s over a month since I arranged my upgrade from MWEB ADSL to LTE and now I have neither, though I suspect I’m still paying for one of them. Repeated phone calls to MWEB support are probably costing me a fortune too, and they achieve nothing. The defective router they supp**** in early August still has NOT been replaced. Since Telkom activated our new wireless phone the situation has deteriorated enormously. Until then MWEB were providing me temporary ADSL, but that is no longer available and all I have is the very limited internet Telkom provides me. One of my first calls on the new phone was to MWEB. I was informed that due to the earlier misunderstanding (the result of a courier arriving without warning) my order for a replacement router had been cancelled. Several calls later I was told that the order had been reopened and was marked urgent. Of course nothing could be done over the weekend. Yesterday (Monday) afternoon the courier arrived (unannounced again) to collect the router. This time I gave it to him despite the fact that he gave me inadequate paperwork to show that I’d done so. Once he left I phoned MWEB to complain that the courier hadn’t let me know he was coming. The man I spoke to asked if I’d given him the router and asked how I knew he was the courier. I was already feeling insecure about the situation and he only made my fears even worse. However I couldn’t send the courier away again and go back to square one. I urgently need the internet access I signed up for. Despite the poor communication I thought the end was in sight as I’d been told that the replacement router would come twenty-four hours after the old one was collected. When that didn’t happen I phoned MWEB again. After holding for some time I was transferred to the wrong department, then put on hold again. After about forty minutes I finally got to speak to someone who deals with LTE, but by then the department which deals with deliveries had closed for the day. I told the man I spoke to that I’d close my MWEB account if I don’t receive my router by midday tomorrow (Wednesday) as I have an extremely important appointment of a personal nature which cannot be postponed, but which I may now be forced to cancel. He told me to go to that appointment, but if I do, when will I receive the router? If I’m not home when the courier arrives, they’ll probably cancel my order again. In addition to the mounting cost of trying to get this sorted out, the stress in unbearable and I really fear what it will do to my health. The only thing that is stopping me cancelling my contract is the fact that I’d lose my email addresses.
