Trouble right till the end.

MWeb has confirmed the cancellation of my mailbox today for transfer to a new service provider (I am leaving them because I cannot take their excessively long queues anymore). However, they have prohibited transfer. I have been in a live chat since 11.49. It is now 12.27 and I am still waiting for assistance. I know there are many more hours ahead....

Hi Michelle,  we understand that waiting for assistance can be very taxing, and we appreciate your patience. We wanted to confirm that your mailbox is scheduled to be cancelled on 1 April 2026, ensuring the process is completed correctly. You will receive a confirmation once the cancellation is finalised. No further action is required on your side at this stage.  Kind regards,
The Mweb Team

Best regards,

MC

I would have liked to have asked you about downloading emails, but seems I won't get the chance.

Hi Michelle,  it’s great that you’re thinking ahead about your emails, we’re here to assist you to make sure you don’t lose anything before your mailbox is closed on 1 April 2026. To download your Mweb emails:
  1. Open your email client (Outlook, Thunderbird, or Apple Mail).
  2. Set up your account using POP (Post Office Protocol). This downloads all your emails to your computer.
  3.  Once downloaded, your emails are saved locally and can be accessed even after your mailbox is cancelled.
  4.  If you want, you can also export or back up your mailbox within the email client for extra safety.

Following these steps will ensure all your emails are safely stored before your mailbox cancellation. Kind regards,
 The Mweb Team

Best regards,

Please advise progress of cancellation. No confirmation received as yet, but no email available online. New service provider still finds the line prohibited.

Thanks. Please note that I no longer have access to email, so email communication would be useless.

MWeb Team - you confirmed the cancellation on Feb 11. You've had over a month and a half's notice. Yet you still haven't managed to finalise cancellation and release the line as undertaken by today, April 1. Come on!

About where to send emails. I no longer have an email page. I assume this is because you have removed it as part of the cancellation? You can SMS to my cell no.

You can debit there, but if you have removed the page, and have not released the line for the new service provider to take over, how will I receive the email messages?

Hi Michelle, we understand the concern here, especially given the uncer*****y around the page removal and line release, it makes sense to question whether communication will still reach you. To ensure there are no gaps, could you please confirm if you’re currently able to receive emails on your registered address? This will help us make sure all updates and important information reach you without any disruption. If email access is limited in any way, the team will ensure alternative communication is used during the process so you remain fully informed while the line release and related steps are being finalised. This will continue to be handled with the necessary attention to ensure everything is resolved as smoothly as possible. Kind regards,
The Mweb Team
