Terrible Service and robbing me.

So recently I moved houses to Bedford view. I was always with Telkom but had so many problems with them that I decided to stop my contract when I moved out my house. After moving into my new house I decided to do a little bit of shopping around and see who would offer the best deal, as well as the best service.

I spoke to Afrihost and got no reply from them and didn’t give me enough information on the product so I decided to try out Mweb.

I phoned Mweb and the lady I spoke to asked me to give the number of the new house that I moved into to see if it is still active. The previous owners moved to Mauritius so it was difficult to get hold of them, but I finally did and I got the number. The lady I spoke to was really good by calling me back and kept checking up on me to see if I managed to get the number. Eventually I gave her the number and she did the check and she said.

Ok so your line is still active so all you have to pay for is the data as well as the line. So I asked her for a price break down and I said are you sure that that is all I am paying for, and she rep**** yes that’s it.

We then proceeded to follow the whole process and I still asked her, will I have **** with Telkom and she said, ' no that’s why you pay for the line with us, we sort out all your problems that you have.' So I was really happy and thought that I have made the right decision.

Within 2 days my router had arrived and I got a sms saying that my Mweb is ready to go. I took the router out the box and followed the instructions to install it. But I could not connect to it and had no connection. I then decided to give Mweb a call to see if they could assist. I ended up speaking to a guy who said to me that Bedfordview was down at the moment and he will put me on the sms line to tell me when it was back up and running.

I then proceeded to wait for about 3 days when I just thought, jeez surely it must be up and running by now.

I gave Mweb a call and spoke to a technical guy who told me that Bedfordview has no problems so he isn’t sure why my internet would be down. He then proceeded to look at my Telkom number and saw that it was not active - Y THE FIRST LADY I SPOKE TO COULDNT TELL ME, I JUST DONT KNOW. He then said I need to speak to Telkom and sort that out myself, which I had no idea I had to.

I phoned Telkom and they told me I have to get a new line and pay R180pm for that line directly to them, which I was so ****ed off cause no one told me about that extra cost. And worst of all they said it would take 7 days for them to sort that out, BUT MWEB SAID THAT THEY WOULD SORT OUT ALL MY PROBLEMS AND I WOULD NOT DEAL WITH TELKOM, BUT MY WORD IT LOOKS THE COMPLETE OPPISTE TO ME, CAUSE MWEB HASNT HELPED ME OUT IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE.

So I got my bill and I was charged pro rata for November when I haven’t even been able to connect once to the internet and will not be able to connect until the 1st of December or even after that. SO WHY THE HELL SHOULD I PAY FOR A SERVICE THAT I AM NOT RECEIVING. It’s like paying for a car before you even receive it and that is not heard of.

I then phoned Mweb and spoke to a lady who I feel was really ****y to me and really felt it in her not to help me out and put it in my face that I have to pay. I explained my whole story and said I don’t feel that it is right that I must now pay for my Mweb if it has not worked and will not work for the rest of November. She told me we cannot help and that I will have to pay the amount.

I feel Mweb really just wants you to sign a contract and they will do everything to help and then once you are signed in that contract they actually done give a **** about helping you out.

I feel Mweb has done me a dis service and I would love to get out of my contract and go somewhere else. To be honest I don’t even mind staying but the whole principal of paying for November is not right.

Thank you
