Telkom causing most of the problem but MWeb aren't following up

Let me start out by saying I have had good experiences with MWeb. And this case is not entirely their fault. But it's reaching farcical proportions now.

I app**** for a new ftth service in AUGUST. Only Telkom (Openserve) provides fibre in this area, but we already knew this and we knew several neighbours in the complex already have fibre. Should be no problem , right?

After about 6 weeks, the SMS arrived to say your link is up & running, you can connect the router and you'll be in business. Actually, no, no installation yet and no-one had even contacted us. I managed to buttonhole a Telkom installation contractor who made enquiries and found out someone else had indeed installed a fibre - in someone else's house (we never found out who or where).

Long story short: we have called MWeb at least 8 times. Each time we are promised "escalation" and each time nothing happens. From time to time a Telkom person calls and promises to arrive and install, but then no-one arrives. There are numerous missed and dropped calls from unknown numbers which may or may not be related, but no-one ever sends an SMS or WhatsApp or even leaves a voice message.

The big stresser now is that because there is Telkom fibre in the area, they are planning to switch off the DSL today, the 30th Nov. What the actual heck are we supposed to do???
